The Juggernaut String Band will be performing a free community concert on Tuesday, November 3rd at 7:00 pm in Shawnee's Fireplace Lobby.An upbeat, exciting show that’s fun for the whole family, Juggernaut fuses American banjo and African hand drums with traditional and original songs for a sound they call “Appalachian Juju.” The African roots of American blues run through songs penned by banjo player Peter Taney, uniting fiddling with the tribal rhythms of drummers Michael Cooke and Carolyn Burbage. Songs in English, Assante, and Cajun French swim in a “Juju stew” with bluegrass ballads and novelty tunes.
